The Spring 2011 CSF share begins Thursday, April 28th and runs through Thursday, June 16th.
Those who purchase a weekly share will receive 8 deliveries.
Those who choose to buy a bi-weekly (every-other-week) share will receive 4 deliveries. Bi-weekly shares will be delivered on alternating weeks (the BLUE bi-weekly share will start on April 28th and end June 9th; the GREEN bi-weekly share will start on May 5th and end June 16th.
Over the course of the CSF, you will receive a variety of locally caught seafood from a group Carteret County fishermen who you will get to know over the course of the season. The composition of each week’s portion will vary depending on seasonal availability and weather conditions. In responding feedback we received from our members, we are making an effort to incorporate more diversity into all share types. Potential species for the spring share include: triggerfish, mahi, flounder, shrimp, blue crabs, softshell crabs, whelk and clams. On some weeks when we offer species such as live hard crabs you will have an option.

Shares can be picked up on Thursdays from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at Duke Raleigh Hospital, P1 South Parking Garage.
Shares will be delivered to Raleigh in accordance with state and federal regulations. Your seafood will be kept at a safe temperature until you arrive. Different species will have different storage times, so please check the weekly email for any special handling instructions. We strongly recommend you place your seafood in a refrigerator (set as close to 32 degrees as possible) as soon as possible after pick up. We are not responsible for the safety of your seafood once it is in your possession.
It is your responsibility to bring a small cooler or insulated bag to transport your seafood home. We will provide ice or previously frozen ice packs at the pick-up site.
If you are unable to pickup your share, please make arrangements with someone else to pick-up your seafood. We are unable to compensate you for missed shares. For your convenience, there is a message board on our website in the Member’s Forum page where you can swap/trade/buy shares from other members. Please make your arrangements directly with the other members.
Unclaimed shares cannot be stored or held after 6:00 p.m. due to their perishable nature.
North Carolina’s weather is often unpredictable and there may be times when weather prevents fishing. If weather prohibits a fresh catch, we will either extend the number of deliveries or provide locally harvested frozen fish. If a pickup is cancelled or delayed, you will be notified by email as soon as possible.
